Hey there, Azure fans!
Today I want to share with you a cool feature that can make your life easier when you need to connect to your Azure VMs: Azure Bastion IP Based Connection.
What is Azure Bastion IP Based Connection? It’s a way to connect to your VMs using their private IP addresses, without exposing them to the public internet. This means you can access your VMs securely and conveniently, without having to set up a VPN or a jumpbox.
How does it work? Well, you need to create an Azure Bastion host in your virtual network. This is a special VM that acts as a gateway between your browser and your VMs. Then, you can use the Azure portal or the Azure CLI to initiate an IP based connection to any VM in the same virtual network. You will see a new tab in your browser with an RDP or SSH session to your VM. That’s it!
Why should you use it? Because it’s simple, fast and secure. You don’t need to worry about managing public IP addresses, network security groups or firewall rules for your VMs. You also don’t need to install any software on your local machine or your VMs. And you can use any device with a modern browser to connect to your VMs from anywhere.
So, what are you waiting for? Try Azure Bastion IP Based Connection today and let me know what you think in the comments.
Happy clouding!
